Amongst the uncertainty of the past 12 months, there has been one consistent; the need to innovate!From adapting your workspaces to transforming the high street, the Great British public has shown their innovative spirit. The question is…are these changes here to stay? The answer? Yes!
Fear not, we’re not championing the cause for another year of restrictions (far from it) however, we did want to take a moment to acknowledge the potential for a positive post covid outcome…the growth of outdoor drinking and dining experiences.

Just about every city has allowed the hospitality sector to create extended outdoor dining spaces, with some councils even providing funding to help them with the transition. Never one to shy from a challenge, business owners across the country invested into outdoor areas, eateries, containers, and pods, complete with electricity, heaters, sliding doors, and comfy furniture – all to navigate an ever-evolving list of restrictions and more importantly retain their customers. Whilst we’ve seen varied success, one thing has become clear…the customers love the new offerings!
Indeed we had the chance to experience this ourselves as we were enlisted by The Royal Exeter Hotel, Bournemouth to transform of all things…their car park. With a name like Innovative Hire, we knew we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to get creative and before we knew it BACKYARD Bournemouth was born! Read all about it!

Whilst the rest of the world has long cherished street dining and drinking as a foundation of their communities it’s been the recent upheaval that has finally allowed us Brits to get in on the act. Late to the party but always the loudest, we think it’s fair to say the public have fully embraced their new surroundings and more so…want them to stay!
